We are a team of 6 enthusiasts with the goal to improve the current process of reserving rooms in Fontys UAS.
We are familiar with the struggle of finding an available room from personal experience.
Project rooms are constantly occupied by the same people.
When lucky to find a free room, there is always someone interrupting because they are looking for a room: “Are you guys leaving soon?”.
The people working then lose focus and productivity.
However, the problem does not regard only students.
The building manager spends 25 percent of his day answering emails about reservations.
Teachers do not have an easy way to get an overview of their reservations, which leads to them being late or even confuse the room numbers.
These are the problems we have discovered, but there are definitely more issues beneath the surface.
All of this can be solved just by integrating Froom into the booking flow.
Froom is an online platform to help Fontys students and employees reserve rooms in the university buildings for meetings, classes, or workshops. It allows them to reserve rooms, interact with a floor map, displaying all available and booked rooms, review their reservations. In addition, admins of the system can see an overview of all users and reservations, view valuable insights about reservations and availability of buildings.
